The last 1 - 2 weeks have been paved with negativity and anti-EV conjecture; the success of the Beijing Motor Show 2024 was instead interpreted as a failure for European and US automotive brands.

While the Chinese motor show (unsurprisingly) did highlight the vast array of credible East Asian automotive products, there were manufacturers from all around the world advertising their wares. But one manufacturer which has really held its own in the UK for electric vehicles is Audi. This German dynamo has managed to really succeed where other European brands have not. Partly due to the swathe of great options - like the Q4 SUV, Q8 e-tron SUV and e-Tron GT.

But in other ways, the brand has been more forthcoming in committing to the EV transition. Open to leasing broker relationships and fleet terms, the Audi team in the UK have not hidden from the challenges that electrification is bringing to the manufacturers. Traditional dealership models alone will not work. 

And subtle deals or RV protective measures only turn prospective proponents and sellers of their product away. Audi have done a fantastic job of connecting with all concerned and their productive results do speak for themselves.

But not one to rest on their laurels, the group have again created another key EV for the UK's personal and business leasing market. The Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro is the latest of their innovations to enter the UK.

This mid-size SUV is based on the new dedicated EV platform - the VW PPE and the 5-seater family car will offer some much improved technical  performance. The 94.9 kWh battery will offer combined real-world ranges of just under 300 miles.

The standard model offers 0-62 times of sub 6 seconds via 285 kW (or 382hp) and top speeds of 130mph. The 11kW AC charging capability equates to 10 hour charging times for 0-100% with the amazing 270kW DC rapid charging allowing 20 minute 10-80% sessions. It can tow up to 2400kg (Braked), so this is an SUV with practicality and application for many UK consumers and fleets.  Plus the standard Heat Pump means no unnecessary upgrades to save the range.

The Audi Q6 officially launched on 30 April 2024 for UK customers to order to buy or lease, with first deliveries expected for September 2024.
