The Vauxhall SUV Electric Car Lease-Your Definitive Guide
The transition to electric cars for many of the UK’s fleets / businesses has very much been at the forefront of conversation in 2024. In the build-up to their election to Government, Labour professed to be overtly pro-EV with keen policies on encouraging more businesses to sustainably move forward.
Indeed, their manifesto which was heartening to many of us, has barely been mentioned or updated since the election. This is bearing in mind that Labour had even suggested moving the ZEV Mandate from the previously amended 2035 back to the original 2030 date.
Will UK companies still be buying or leasing an EV under the Labour Government?
They had very much set their own expectations for the wider EV community. Indeed, EV manufacturers, charge point operators and other investment partners have become more nervous amidst the recent acquiescence. However, the recent Autumn budget for 2024 seems to have added some clarity, with EVs and energy being a particular focus:
This isn’t just about electric cars and vans, with the Government also recognising the wider impact of carbon and green energy. In fact, Rachel Reeves has stated that the UK will become a “superpower” in the world of clean energy. This is underpinned by the £22 billion Carbon Capture Strategy (CCS) and some 11 hydrogen projects being setup across the UK.
Gigafactories are still on the agenda to help bring about home soil battery production for our cars and vans. Confidence is key to ensuring that companies and business with electric car fleets / salary sacrifice schemes are supported. It isn’t just about contract hire / leasing either, with some businesses now using cash purchase or contract purchase to own EVs.
However, what remains fundamental, is that these EVs can be purchased (or taxed) favourably, charged easily / quickly / cheaply and local communities are supported. As these new EVs become used options in auctions, we need to be ready in the UK for this adoption.
One manufacturer looking to take advantage of this move to electric transportation is the Vauxhall group. Now a subsidiary of the Stellantis conglomerate, the brand have been active in producing some of the leading SUV and crossover options in the UK. Only recently, the group confirmed the completion of two amazing new SUVs which will be ready for delivery in 2025, including:
The bold new premium SUV is aiming to be a perfect family solution. Combining practicality and aesthetics, this new car wants to provide both a modern fleet but with usable versatility. The group will offer 3 trims in this range including:

On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 8 hour 0 – 100% charging times with the 160 kW DC maximum allowing 36 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 550L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 125 mpg. This model can tow 1250kg (braked) and 750kg (unbraked). This EV has not yet confirmed the Bidirectional charging.
The latest innovation from Vauxhall will see a cheaper SUV / crossover arrive for UK customers. Comfortable, affordable and family-focused (with a 7-seat option), this option is aiming to bring electrification to the masses.
