Maserati car leasing
Luxury and electric cars are now a consistent theme in the UK. With a new all-electric Range Rover on route for 2024/2025, the new Porsche Macan EV now available to order and the new Lamborghini Lanzador also due for 2026, the prestige and elite car market is now awash with competent EVs. And another Italian luxury car maker, Maserati, are now entering the world of lithium batteries.
Having been setup in 1914, the Modena-based brand are renowned for subtle luxury, style and their definitive Trident emblem. While associated with the Ferrari brand, the Maserati group is now wholly-owned by Stellantis (who also own Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Fiat, Jeep, Peugeot and Vauxhall). With new ownership, it was not altogether surprising when the CEO announced that electrification of Maserati would take place across the whole product suite by 2025. Anything with the name FOLGORE within the Maserati brand is an all-electric option.
The Maserati brand is truly iconic (and lavish), with many business owners, entrepreneurs and wealthy individuals utilising the brand for their automotive requirements. As the website suggests “The Others Just Travel” - vehicles like the GranTurismo, Grecale, Ghibli and Levante have been lynchpins of the luxury vehicle industry. The finish and design is undeniably Italian but the comfort and performance are akin to some of the better known German brands.
Linking up with Stellantis is about economies of scale, with the route to electrification being a costly and timely undertaking for many brands. Fundamentally, a car brand needs to retain its unique identity and reputation while delivering the driver a robust EV experience. Much of any EV’s success is specific to the range, charging times and performance. The better the battery the better the experience. Maserati aim to deliver an “adrenelectric” experience with their new product.
At the time of writing (February 2024) there are just two options for a customer to choose from including:
Not unlike Range Rover, Ferrari and Lamborghini, the Maserati EV product will sit at the top of the budget for most leasing customers. With the considerable tax advantages for company car users and small fleets, it is likely this will be a business leasing product (or purchase for Capital Allowances) as opposed to a consumer focused car. However, there may be some wealthy individuals who do want the allure of luxury, comfort and zero-emissions.
In terms of pricing, much of this will be down to the residual values set by the finance companies and how they determine the success of the luxury EV used car market. However, with price tags of around £150,000 to £200,000, specification dependent, this is likely to see monthly leasing deals of around £1500 - £3000 contract and specification dependent.
Before you spend six figures on a new luxury EV, it is probably worth investigating the extent to which your personal or business lifestyle is “EV suitable”. There are corresponding obligations with running an all-electric fleet, with elements like charge points, charging cables, running costs and a more general Whole of Life costs perspective required.
Moving from petrol and diesel into battery technology can create nervousness or trepidation but as the UK’s award winning Electric Car Leasing broker in 2023, you can be assured that our website and team can educate you. Tax advantages and price alone should never be the backbone of your decision.
Use our “at a glance” and “living with your …” analysis for each Maserati to ascertain charging times, charge point locations, company car tax calculations, full charge cost and cost per mile. Our innovative energy performance-style certificate, the EVC™ (Electric Vehicle Certificate), is available with each quote to efficiently summarise this for you. This ensures that the electric Maserati is adequate for the duration of the lease.
