Leasing an Audi e-tron GT in the UK

Are there electric supercars?

Quite surprisingly this is turning into reality with many manufacturers now battling for the spot of the best electric supercar engineers in the world. Even Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley are now looking into electric transformation (as they will have to do in the UK by 2030 / 2035).

But car producers, like Audi, turned a 2018 concept into a reality with the e-tron GT becoming available to order in 2021 for UK customers (although some may have noticed its cameo in the Avengers, being driven by Tony Stark).

The luxury sportscar from Audi is anything but a novelty and UK customers are now turning away from petrol equivalents to enjoy the joys of electric performance. And with the Porsche Taycan, in saloon, Cross Turismo and Sport Turismo format, as a direct competitor there is real credibility to this automotive segment.

With more similar cars from brands like the Lotus, Maserati and Polestar due in in 2023 / 2034, the e-car lease team expect this to become a competitive area. But why get an EV sports car?

For some business leasing customers, this is a tax efficient way in which to enjoy this type of car. Put simply, the 2% BiK is literally thousands of pounds (in company car tax) cheaper than petrol equivalents; it’s a financial “no-brainer” to move into the pure electric vehicle. But it isn’t just business users, directors and fleet managers benefitting from the UK’s favourable tax regime of fully electric.

Personal customers are also enjoying EVs too, as they have started to realise that not only are they quicker, better-looking and easier to drive but they are also cheaper to run, service and fuel. Plus, they form part of our worldwide decarbonisation approach.

In terms of specification choices in the GT, choose from:

  • GT – starting at around £83,100 this entry model offers 20” alloys, LED headlights, MMI navigation plus, sports seats with electric adjustment, panoramic roof, suspension with damper control, privacy glass, heated front seats, power-operated tailgate, climate control, pre-conditioning, 3-spoke flat bottom steering wheel, Audi virtual cockpit cruise control, keyless-go, rear view camera and Audi pre-sense front and basic.

You can also add some amazing packages like the comfort and sound pack at £3,950 (includes parking assist package, Bang & Olufsen, ambient lighting package, matrix LED headlights), the comfort and sound plus pack at £8,190 (adds adaptive air suspension, seat ventilation, sport seat pro and upgraded leather combination)

  • GT Vorsprung – at around £109,000 this top line model offers upgraded 20” alloys, matrix LED headlights, sport seats pro, HUD, night vision assistant, tour pack, city assist pack, Bang & Olufsen, heated front and rear seats, adaptive air suspension, front seat ventilation with massage function and ambient lighting plus.

And Audi have simplified sports performance on the GT with just one 85 kWh usable battery with 390 kW (or 523hp) available. A separate RS model is available to buy or lease, but this is treated as a separate vehicle. Expect the GT e-tron to deliver 4.1 second 0 – 62 times, 152mph top speeds and 472lb-ft of torque. On range, this car will cover about 220 miles (combined) in colder climates and 295 miles (combined) in warmer climates.

For charging, the 11 kW AC max results in 9 hours 0 – 100% charge times with the 265 kW DC rapid charging max providing for 17 minutes 10 – 80% charge times. The GT e-tron is one of the quickest charging vehicles available to lease or buy in the UK. Note that a 22 kW AC charging upgrade is also available which reduces the 0 – 100% time to just under 5 hours.

Enjoying a supercar in electric format isn’t just for business and salary sacrifice customers. It is possible to arrange a personal lease on this car too. However, please note that contract hire is both a usership product and this is credit based.

For any e-car lease customer, the price they receive will be based on a contract hire arrangement which means that the vehicle is used for a predetermined time and returned at contract cessation; it is not possible to buy the vehicle. In addition, both companies and individuals must complete a finance proposal form for us to send to the selected finance company on the deal. This is not suitable if you have poor credit or insufficient accounts on Companies House.

How much is an Audi e-tron GT Electric to lease?
Ranging between £80,000 - £110,000 (at the time of writing in April 2022), this electric supercar is very much for those PCH or BCH customers looking for something luxury, and unbelievably quick. Expect monthly rentals on the GT to be around £900 - £1400 per month depending upon the specification, contract and requirements

Is an Audi e-tron GT a good car to lease?
Yes - the GT is one of the most exciting and robust electric cars to lease at present. Not only does the car offer 4 second 0 - 62 times but it is also one of the quickest charging vehicles on a rapid charger. Rated 5/5 by What Car? 8/10 by Top gear and 4/5 by EVO, it is somewhat fair to say you won’t be disappointed with this EV. And Audi are not new to EV type of manufacturing, so you (and the fleet team) can be confident in the battery’s capability.

Is an Audi e-tron GT electric lease right for me or the business?
Before spending upwards of £80,000, or £900 per month, you really do want to ensure that you have fully understood the EV-lifestyle. Using the e-car lease bespoke “Living with your …” tools, all facets of charging speeds, seasonable range, charging cables, charge point infrastructure, charge cost calculator and cost per mile are clearly highlighted on our world-leading website. We do ask all our customers to sign to show they have understood this because contract hire is a long-term commitment (and cannot be flexibly ended).

Where do I find the best Audi e-tron GT lease deals in the UK?
Because the e-tron GT is a luxury and bespoke BEV, all of the best deals are contained on our website at e-car lease. Although, we do get asked about buying v leasing the GT from time to time, for those customers we recommend you head to the local Audi dealer for a test-drive and quotation. Compare your PCP, HP or Lease Purchase offering against our contract hire (usership) product to decide which meets your needs and requirements.

What is the Cheapest Audi e-tron GT Electric leasing option?
At the time of writing (April 2022) the GT SALOON 390kW Quattro 93kWh 4dr Auto is the cheapest to lease. However, if you are spending upwards of £900 per month, we recommend comparing some of the cost-effective (and luxury) packages like the comfort and sound pack or the 22 kW AC charge speed upgrade.

What is the range of an electric Audi e-tron GT?
Even though the GT saloon is a supercar, customers still want to ensure this is enough to have an enjoyable pure electric experience. However, because zero-emission cars operate differently according to several factors, our team try to avoid providing you with just ONE absolute figure. For example, the GT in colder climates will cover 190 miles on a motorway and 250 miles in the city / urban conditions compared to 240 miles and 365 miles respectively in warmer weather. Also, the quicker you drive, and harsher the acceleration, the less efficient the GT will be!

Can you tow an Audi e-tron GT?
No – Audi have not made any tow hitch or attachments available for this EV.

What is the towing capacity of the Audi e-tron GT?
N/A – you cannot tow this vehicle

What is the MPG of the Audi e-tron GT?
The Audi e-tron GT electric has a combustion fuel equivalent of 124 mpg
