Leasing a BYD Sealion 7 Electric in the UK

Some automotive companies in the UK are just ahead of the curve in the world of BEV. One of these brands is the BYD team, a Chinese subsidiary of the BYD group. Now this institution is not just a producer of cars; the team also make batteries, commercial vehicles / LCVs, buses and trucks.

Their vertical manufacturing process means that the organisation can effectively self-serve and produce vehicles with expedience and quality. Indeed, their “blade battery” has been recognised as a market-leader with its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) construction and thinner appearance. Known for its safety and practicality, the group are becoming a rival against the dominant Tesla brand in UK and Europe. The new Sealion 7 is very much the answer to the Model Y Juniper.

Having a wide array of vehicles to choose from is also important to BYD. Having launched options like the ATTO 3, Seal, Dolphin and upcoming ATTO 2, this Chinese company cannot be referred to anything other than proactive and methodical.

Their latest product launch, the Sealion performance SUV, is an attempt to break into the more premium aspect of the industry with a more luxurious and robust car. Described as “a lifestyle statement” the Sealion 7 is a blend of ocean-inspired aesthetics, dynamic presence and cutting-edge innovation for the modern driver. The new luxury SUV from BYD will consist of three specifications:

  • Comfort – LED headlights, high-beam assist, cornering lights, panoramic roof, electric tailgate (with kick feature), 19” alloys, electrically folding/heated door mirrors, multifunction steering wheel (heated), 8-way electrically adjustable seats, heated and ventilated front seats, 4-way lumbar support in the seats, climate control, ambient lighting, LED interior lights, air purification system, 10.25” LCD display, 15.6” rotatable screen, Dynaudio sound with 12 speakers, front/rear parking sensors, adaptive cruise, 360 degree reversing camera, front and rear cross traffic alert, intelligent high beam, blind spot detection, hill hold, keyless entry and start and heat pump;
  • Design– this adds 20” alloys to the specification; and
  • Excellence  - this adds 20” alloys, HUD, Tahiti blue interior and leather.

In terms of colours, choose between Atlantis Grey, Polar White, Space Black and Indigo Grey. Interior is black on all models apart from the Tahiti Blue on the Excellence edition.

Before you commit to the long-term contract hire solution, you need to ensure that the product is suitable for your requirements.

To ensure the new Sealion is right for you please ensure that you access our “living with your ...” tools and EVC™ certificates, which set out the fundamental aspects and data on the vehicle. This includes the real-world range, charging times (AC and DC), charging costs, charge solutions, performance and towing capacity.

Even charging tariffs, motor insurance and bidirectional charging are included. We endeavour to ensure that youcompletely understand the whole of life provisions. Think about more than just the monthly rental.
