Leasing a Citroen e-C3 Aircross Electric in the UK

The Citroen brand are a backbone of cost-effective and affordable leasing in the UK. In the world of EV, not much has changed with the French group continuing to create practical family options, which are not going to influence the bank account too severely. Having already created a small city-car electric option, the engineering team (backed by the Stellantis conglomerate) have now added an SUV option in the form of the Aircross.

Family cars, especially SUVs and crossovers, are a fundamental part of the UK automotive segment, especially for personal / consumers.

Unlike the businesses who enjoy incredible tax benefits for leasing an electric Citroen, via a company car or salary sacrifice scheme, the individual customer is reliant on a cost comparison vs petrol or diesel options. This includes the Whole of life costs, like cost-effective charging and lower servicing / maintenance costs. Or as the C3 suggests on their website “live the electric life”.

But what specifications can I order in the electric Aircross?

So far, two options have been confirmed including:

  •  Plus – this features 17” alloys, front/rear skid plates, cruise control, hill start assist, 3D rear lights, 10.25” touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Safety Pack, Visibility Pack, Advanced Comfort seats, Connect Box, electric folding mirrors, rear parking sensors and automatic wipers / lights; and
  •  Max – this adds 10.25” touchscreen, dark tinted rear windows, fog lights, heated windscreen, Connect Nav, wireless charging, heated seats and steering wheel, pre-conditioning, air conditioning and rear camera.

Colours include Monte Carlo Blue, Polar White, Elixir Red, Mercury Grey, Bright blue and Perla Nera Black. The group also sell add-on features like the Connect Plus Pack (for using your phone as remote control), Free2move Charge and the Flexcare extended warranty scheme. For the more outgoing families, dealer-fitted options like roof bars, roof box and bike racks are available. You can also upgrade to the 11kW AC onboard charger too.

But how does the e-C3 Aircross perform? Is it any good?

  •  this has a usable battery of 44 kWh which offers 83 kW (111hp), top speeds of 90 mph and 0 - 62 times of 12.9 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 130 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 175 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 155 miles. The 7.4kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 7 hours with the 100 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 32 minutes. It has a 143 mpg equivalent, 460L cargo volume and towing capacity of 350kg (Braked and Unbraked). There is no heat pump on this EV. Bidirectional charging has not been confirmed.

With prices expected to start at around £24,000 - £25,000, there is no doubting that this small family option will be a credible addition to the market. But that doesn’t mean you should not properly investigate or research the transition to an all-electric vehicle first.

Our website at e-car is built for battery technology, with the “living with your ...” analysis and our EVC™ all incredible tools for you or the business to use. Real-world range, charging times, charging costs, performance, towing capacity and battery aspects are included.

Even facets like bidirectional charging and heat pumps are set out for your review too. The BEV lifestyle is a positive one, but it is reliant on you, or the fleet manager, selecting the correct vehicle.
