Will the BMW i7 and the Mercedes EQE / EQS be the best luxury fully electric saloons (Sedans) to lease?  Quite clearly, the German EVs are going to be high up on the wish list for the UK’s directors, senior management and chauffeur leasing customers. But what electrified G80 specifications can a UK customer choose?  As at June 2022, only one specification has been confirmed – the £66,000 272kW Luxury 87.2kWh 4dr Auto AWD. As standard this EV has all the key quality options – heat pump and battery heating system. Full LED lights, solar and soundproof class, ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging, heated steering wheel, Smart cruise control, heated and ventilated front seats, leather upholstery and the 14.5” infotainment system with 17-seaper Quantum surround. The G80 also possesses the Active Road Noise Control (ANC-R) which emits an inverted sound wave to provide the most comfortable of electric experiences.

But what options make this the perfect car?  Consider the £3900 Innovation pack, which is shown as a different model on the e-car lease website, for the upgraded 12.3” dashboard cluster, head-up display, dual LED headlamps, blind-spot monitor, surround view monitor cameras and remote smart parking assistant. Or the £1150 Convenience Pack for the leather heated steering wheel, electric tailgate and rear air conditioning. Or the £1500 Comfort seat package for memory function on the driver’s seat, massage seats, ventilated seats and touch power seat adjustment. Charing the G80 on an AC unit will take 9 hours from 0 - 100% on the 11 kW AC max, with rapid charging power of 230 kW DC able to provide 20 minute 10 – 80% times. Expect colder weather to allow for 230 miles of range on a full charge with warmer temperatures allowing 310 miles. In terms of battery tech, you won’t be disappointed with this EV.
