Leasing a KGM Korando in the UK

One of the early South Korean car manufacturers to turn towards electrification – SsangYong – were looking to wow the UK’s personal and business leasing market with their 4th generation Korando, a mid-size SUV which became available in 2022.
While the SsangYong had been a budget / cheap brand to lease, it was not unsurprisingly that they followed the success of their national counterparts – Hyundai, Kia and Genesis – who have amassed a reputation for build quality, battery efficiency and technical ability.

However, in 2023, SsangYong Motor UK rebranded to KGM Motors UK, with the new ownership pushing electrification as a priority. This involved changing the previous model of Korando to the KGM Korando E-Motion.

But do KGM SUVs have good specification?

The brand has re-launched with just one specification, which includes:

  •  Ultimate – from £39,995 this includes leather, heated and ventilated front seats, 12.3” instrument cluster, 9” HD Screen, EV range enhancing system, LED lights, front and rear parking sensors, keyless start, automatic folding and heated door mirrors, smart powered tailgate, rear parking camera, cabin air quality control, dual-zone air conditioning, 6-speaker sound system, wireless phone charger, heated steering wheel, tinted glass and 17” alloys.

You can choose between colours like Dandy Blue, Grand White, Platinum Grey and Space Black. The manufacturer will allow accessories like the fixed towbar, detachable towbar and electrics to be added to your new EV at the dealership.

But how does the KGM Korando E-motion compare to the competition on the battery aspects?

The FWD SUV option will have a 56 kWh usable battery which will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.6 seconds, 97 mph top speeds and 152 kW (or 204 hp). Expect a combined winter range of 155 miles with warmer weather allowing for 205 miles.

On charging, the 6.6 kW AC max will allow 10 hour min 0 – 100% charging times with the 74 kW DC maximum allowing 33 minute 10 – 80% times. A cargo volume of 839L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 124 mpg.

Ready to lease the new Korando EV?

If this cheaper SUV, with an amazing 7-year warranty (or 90,000 miles), is the best EV for you or the company, just build your required option at the KGM  website.

The e-car team can use these details to create an instant contract hire quote for you. If a more ownership-style agreement is preferable, just ask for a PCP or Contract Purchase arrangement.

If you need a more instant price, just head to our  KGM electric section  and choose the car, select the term (2, 3 or 4 years), annual mileage (5,000 – 20,000 per annuum), initial rental (deposit) and maintenance provision and our e-car quote calculator will show you a monthly price. Just select personal for PCH and business for BCH.

Because our website is dynamic, simply add any options you want, and this will amend the price and your company car tax calculation (for business customers only). Remember that our  “Living with your...” tools provide you, or the fleet manager, with everything you need to know on the KGM BEV – seasonal range, battery size charging times and charging costs are all set out for your review.

As you will note, you can charge your Korando E-motion from 0 – 100% for a cost-effective amount compared to a petrol or diesel option!
