Lease a Kia EV3 in the UK

The future of the UK’s electric car industry is reliant on manufacturers bringing an array of functional, yet affordable, propositions for both personal / retail and business / fleet customers to enjoy.

While some of the more sizeable and luxurious EVs have been able to turn heads and show the full extent to which lithium batteries can improve our motoring there are the obvious practicalities of cost and budgets which often determine our ability to enjoy a certain car. Kia, the South Korean powerhouse, have certainly done this with their latest car – the EV3.

Sitting alongside the already popular (albeit more expensive) EV6 SUV and EV9 7-seater family EV, the EV3 is described as a “moving power”. A small, but practical, SUV, this represents another option in a growing class of ergonomically robust cars which will be far more cost-effective.

Already in July 2024 we have seen the Fiat Grande Panda, Hyundai Inster and Citroen e-C3 Aircross be confirmed. These small family cars will essentially make all-electric driving affordable for a wider demographic in the UK.

But the EV3 is not about our customers sacrificing their comforts and specification for the budget, with this small SUV still delivering a “robust and purposeful character”. There will be three key specification lines including:

  •  Air – from £32,995 this includes 17” alloys, LED daytime running lights, body coloured mirrors, rain sensing wipers, grey cloth upholstery, air conditioning, stop/start button with smart entry, LED interior lights, 12.3” navigation screen, wireless Apple CarPlay, 12.” Driver display with the 5.3” climate screen, OTA functionality, front/rear parking sensors, reversing camera, forward collision avoidance, lane keep assist, smart cruise control, blind-spot collision avoidance, vehicle stability management, smart key with motion sensor and the Thatcham Cat 1 alarm with immobiliser;
  •  GT Line – from £39,495 this adds 19” alloys, ST exterior styling, LED headlights with the small cube design, gloss black mirrors, automatic flush door handles, privacy glass, GT interior styling, artificial leather styling, electric driver’s seat lumbar support, alloy pedals, illuminated vanity mirrors, sliding interior console, ambient lighting (customisable), wireless phone charger and digital key; and
  •  GT Line – from £42,995 this adds the sunroof, heated seats ventilated seats, front passenger seat lumbar support, front premium relaxation seats, on-touch front and rear windows, smart power tailgate, 1x3 pin socket, V2L (vehicle-to-load) capability, 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, HUD, remote smart parking, 360 degree view monitor, parking collision avoidance and the Optional heat pump.

Colour options on the EV3 include White Pearl, Midnight Black. Lithium Silver, Frost Blue, Pistachio Green and Hale Grey. The Sunset Orange is the free of charge paint option. In addition, all of the Kia EV3 options will arrive with the 7-year / 100,000 warranty. Build your perfect EV option on the Kia manufacturer website.

But how will the new Kia EV3 perform?

As per below, two battery configurations are available:

  •  EV3 Standard Range - the 55 kWh lithium-ion battery will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.5 seconds, 106 mph top speeds and 150 kW (or 201 hp). This model is a FWD option. Expect a combined winter range of 170 miles with warmer weather allowing for 230 miles - 200 miles combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 6 hour 0 – 100% charging times with the 100 kW DC maximum allowing 32 minute 10 – 80% times. This has a cargo volume of 460L and vehicle fuel equivalent of 147 mpg. The EV3 will feature bidirectional charging - a 3.6kW AC Vehicle-to-Load (V2L). An indoor and outdoor port means you can power external devices too. This option can tow 300kg (Unbraked) and 300kg (Braked). The heat pump is not available with this option; and
  •  EV3 Long Range - the 78 kWh lithium-ion battery will offer 0 – 62 times of 7.7 seconds, 106 mph top speeds and 150 kW (or 201 hp). This model is a FWD option. Expect a combined winter range of 235 miles with warmer weather allowing for 320 miles - 280 miles combined. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 8 hour and 30 min 0 – 100% charging times with the 135kW DC maximum allowing 33 minute 10 – 80% times. This has a cargo volume of 460L and vehicle fuel equivalent of 145 mpg. This option can tow 750kg (Unbraked) and 1000kg (Braked).
