Leasing a Leapmotor C10 in the UK

The Leap brand is one which may not mean much to our UK leasing customers as at October 2024; the group only formerly announced their intention to join the UK’s EV transition earlier this year having launched their new C10 crossover / SUV in March.

Based in Hangzhou (China) the Leapmotor group was founded in 2015 but through ingenuity and vertical integration of the materials, products and technology, the brand has been selling cars since 2019 with this option, the C10, launching in 2024. While available in combustion and electric format, it is the all-electric platform which is being pushed to our personal and leasing customers.

To support confidence in the new Leap SUV, the partnership with the well-known Stellantis may promote the C10 more heavily. In 2023, the Stellantis group who own brands like Citroen, Peugeot and Vauxhall, acquired a 20% stake and will now be charged with responsibility for European distribution. In the UK, any Stellantis dealership will be able to supply the new SUV for Leapmotor. But what versions can you choose? As at October 2024 you can elect to have:

•  Comfort – this has Dual zone Auto Air conditioning, Heat Pump, LED auto headlights, Front seats electrically adjustable, Rear Parking Sensor & 360° Camera, 12-Speaker Surrounding HiFi System, Panoramic Sunroof + Electric Sunshade, 10,25’ HD Instrument cluster, 14,6’ & 2,5k high resolution Central Console with Navigation, Wireless Charging, 18” Alloy Wheels, Hidden door handle, Privacy Glass and L2 ADAS (12 high-precision sensors with 16 ADAS functions); or 

• Design - Heated steering wheel, Silicon Leather seats, Heated and Ventilated front seats, Electric Tailgate, Ambient light, 20” Alloy Wheels and Lighting Rear through-lights.

Underpinning the C10 is a focus on comfort and serenity with the plus interior and whisper quiet architecture, leading safety and vehicle autonomous driving plus a software-focused innovation.

But how does the new C10 perform – is it a good solution for our lease customers?

This RWD SUV will adopt a usable battery of 66 kWh which generates 160 kW (or 215hp), 106 mph top speeds and 0 - 62 times of 7.5 seconds. This will cover a combined 175 miles on a full charge in colder climates, with warmer weather upgrading this to 235 miles - a combined 205 miles.

And the 6.6kW AC max will provide for 11 hour and 45 minute 0 – 100% charging times. Rapid charging from 10 – 80% will take 42 minutes on the 84 kW DC. A cargo volume of 401L is available with this car. It has a vehicle fuel equivalent of 126 mpg. You can tow with this EV – 750kg (Unbraked) and 1500kg (Braked). The Heat Pump is standard.

While the C10 could be on your wish-list, we do encourage all our customers to research their future EV. Battery technology can be a great experience for many customers with lower fuel costs and improved servicing obligations.
