Polestar 3 Car leasing
Are Polestar only producing a fastback electric solution? Having quickly established the Polestar as one of the main alternatives to the Tesla Model 3 (and BMW i4) the Volvo-backed brand have left our UK customers wanting more.
Electric cars are continuing to grow, with the seismic demand leaving many manufacturers without many stock options for 2022 and some are confirming that 2023 is already proving to be a busy year with a backlog of orders awaiting fulfilment – as at September 2022, a Polestar 3 will arrive in and around March 2023. And with the Polestar v Tesla debate remaining, the Polestar will only continue to grow in popularity as many EV customers crave the familiar European finish and aggressive external designs.
Because the UK is very much SUV and crossover focused, the addition of the 3 will be an exciting proposition for many of our Polestar lease customers.
“The Polestar 3 reimagines the SUV through premium electric performance …” according to the team on their website. But with expected prices north of £65,000, this will sit very much in the luxury and prestige EV segment. And for UK drivers, while there is limited information available to e-car, there are two key options and specifications set to launch in October 2022:
With Volvo having a sterling reputation for quality (and safe) family SUVs and estates, it seems somewhat logical that their performance offshoot will continue this tradition. Unfortunately, this car will NOT have 7-seats, which may be disappointing to any XC90 customers who are looking to make the electric car transition.
This will be a 5 seat SUV car only. However, the new SUV EV will share the same platform, so expect this to be on the bigger side i.e. this is not going to conflict with the Volvo XC40 and C40 all-electric platforms. Instead the Polestar 3 will be a direct competitor to the Mercedes EQC (and EQS SUV), the BMW iX, the Audi e-tron and the Tesla Model Y (and Model X). Moving forward, the Mercedes EQB will still be the only genuine electric 7 seat to lease or buy
This will depend on the motor which you choose as there are two options which includes:
Where the Polestar 3 is likely to be popular is with our salary sacrifice customers. This route of new car procurement is making a new electric car more affordable. Many UK employers are now building robust salary sacrifice car schemes to enhance their proposition and facilitate more eco car options for their staff. With a healthy list price, buying or leasing the Polestar 3 may be unaffordable for some retail customers.
However, using a sal sac scheme is more tax efficient for the employee, as utilising a gross salary can generate significant savings; anywhere between 30 – 60% in comparison to a like for like PCH agreement. And with 2% Benefit in Kind (BiK), the company car tax exposure is so nominal that the employee savings, coupled with the monthly NIC savings for the employer, does make this an attractive proposition. But that is not to say that the team at e-car lease cannot help with any business or fleet enquiries, or personal leasing requirements, with the new Polestar 3.
The good news is that our industry-leading EV experts do make this a seamless transaction for you or the company. And providing the best deals on the SUV Polestar isn’t all you get from us – our “living with your …” tools ensure that all your queries on an electric car are comprehensively answered.
