Leasing a Skywell BE11 Estate in the UK

The Skyworth Auto group are a Chinese manufacturer who are now looking to bring their array of electric vehicles to the UK. Having only operated since 2017, this is a new manufacturer but, as Tesla have proved, this is not altogether a problematic circumstance. Their first innovation to the UK will be the BE11 SUV, which is actually named the Skyworth EV6 in China. However, with the South Korean Kia brand already supplying the EV6, this would be a potentially confusing matter. If not a breach of IP!     

 Described as a “strategic SUV” the BE11 will be combining leading technology with energy solutions, to ensure that UK customers enjoy comfort, space and luxury. Indeed, the brand have utilised a “sleep seat” which provides the ability for the driver to enjoy the seat all the way down into a bed.

At present, just one specification will be launched (in standard and long range format) with the inclusion of key features like 12.8” touchscreen display, wireless smartphone connectivity, panoramic skyroof, electric tailgate, heated and folding door mirrors, automatic headlights, LED lights, 19” alloys, privacy glass, 8-speaker Metz sound system, 128-colour ambient lighting, leather upholstery, 12.3” LCD display, 60/40 rear seats, air conditioning, cruise control, parking sensors (front and rear), reversing camera, hill start assist and active park assist.

Colours on the BE11 include Polar Night Black, Galaxy Grey, Midnight Blue and Aurora White. All vehicles will arrive with a 7-year / 100,000 mile warranty. This is as well as the 8-year battery warranty. Service intervals are set at every year or 15,000 miles.

But how does the BE11 perform? Is it any good?

•  Standard Range - this has a usable battery of 68 kWh which offers 150 kW (201hp), top speeds of 93mph and 0 - 62 times of 9.6 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 175 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 230 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 205 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 7 hour and 30 minutes with the 80 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 60 minutes. It has a 122 mpg equivalent, 467L cargo volume and towing capacity has not yet been announced. There is no heat pump on this EV. Bidirectional charging has not been confirmed; and
•  Long Range - this has a usable battery of 81 kWh which offers 150 kW (201hp), top speeds of 93mph and 0 - 62 times of 9.6 seconds. Real-world ranges suggest a combined 205 miles in colder weather with warmer temperatures to allow for 275 miles (on a full charge) - combined overall at 240 miles. The 11kW AC allows for 0-100% charging times of 8 hour and 45 minutes with the 80 kW DC enabling 10-80% in 72 minutes. It has a 120 mpg equivalent, 467L cargo volume and towing capacity has not yet been announced. There is no heat pump on this EV. Bidirectional charging has not been confirmed.
