Leasing a Jeep Avenger Electric in the UK

Known for robust and muscular SUVs, the American automotive brand, Jeep, has surprised many of us by announcing an all-electric option to launch in 2023. “Concentrated Freedom” according to Jeep, their new Avenger SUV will be their first attempt at battery technology. But this move is not too surprising, with Jeep now being owned by the automotive industry giants Stellantis (who also own Alfa Romeo, Citroen, Fiat, Peugeot and Vauxhall to name but a few!).

Creating an electric brand is more than just adding some lithium-ion batteries to a car; there is a significant amount of research, development, vehicle alterations and ergonomic improvising. This is why it is has taken some time for some manufacturers to join the electric automotive segment, with many having to dedicate considerable time, money and marketing into creating a product which is both practical, cost-accessible and capable of mass-adoption.

When you consider the EV market is still only relatively new, it does make for plenty of excitement to think that many newer electric car brands and models will launch throughout 2022 and 2023 for UK leasing customers. And with 2022 set to see over 250,000 new BEVs registered in the UK, there are meaningful financial rationales for Jeep bringing out their new electric SUV to their customers.

And what specifications are available on the Jeep Avenger EV?

At present (March 2023), there is only a 1st Edition (or launch edition) which will be combining the all-terrain facets of a Jeep with the luxury and comforts that the modern customer needs. Expect this smaller-SUV to include 18” alloys, 100% digital interface for the driver, handsfree tailgate, 360 degree sensors with rear camera, Selec-Terrain and hill descent control, Level 2 autonomous driving capability, Uconnect infotainment system and wireless phone charging. Can Jeep genuinely deliver a genuine “rugged” country vehicle which is non-combustion? The team at Jeep certainly think so.

But how does the electric Avenger from Jeep perform- is it fast? What is the range?

Starting from around £35,000, the 50.8 kWh lithium-ion battery will offer 0 – 62 times of 9.0 seconds, 93 mph top speeds and 115 kW (or 154 hp). The initial model will be FWD. Expect a combined winter range of 155 miles with warmer weather allowing for 210 miles. On charging, the 11 kW AC max will allow 5 hour and 30 min 0 – 100% charging times with the 100 kW DC maximum allowing 26 minute 10 – 80% times. While a smaller SUV, this will still have a cargo volume of 355L and vehicle fuel equivalent of 143 mpg.

Ready to order your Jeep Avenger?

While this new car will face stiff competition from the Vauxhall Mokka-e, Kia Niro EV and MG ZS, the e-car team do recognise that Jeep does carry a great reputation for practicality and functionality – especially if you live in the countryside or need a more “off-road” experience. While customers can pre-order on the Jeep website -  you can just get in touch with our expert electric team to keep you updated on the latest deals and offers.

Alternatively, if you have already placed your order directly with Jeep for their upcoming EV, just send the specification to us and we can provide you with a contract hire / leasing quotation whether you are a personal or business customer.

And if you do need more consultative and detailed advice, don’t forget that our electric-only website provides the key facts on what your new Jeep will deliver; honest and clear data every time. Just access the “living with your ...”  tools which are available on each EV.

How much is a Jeep Avenger Electric to lease?
With the small SUV at around £35,000 we anticipate leasing deals to be around £325 - £475 per month. Our instant quote calculator allows you build your perfect PCH or BCH arrangement, so you have a solution which meets your needs and requirements. Adjust the mileage, term and initial rental / deposit for your circumstances.

Is a Jeep Avenger a good car to lease?
With the EV still being early into the launch phase, the UK’s automotive press and media have not yet provided a firm rating and review. Given that this is based on the architecture used in the Peugeot 2008, Mokka-e and DS3 platform (which Stellantis also own) there is strong evidence to suggest the EV facilities and drive will be more than adequate. Where the Avenger is likely to win custom will be with their 4WD option (which hasn’t yet been confirmed) as all-terrain EVs are almost non-existent in this segment. An integrated heat pump, 11kW AC and 100kW DC are great pros from this SUV. The moderate combined range of 180 miles is a little disappointing. Many UK customer do like the 200 mile real range to be achievable.

Is a Jeep Avenger Electric lease right for me or the business?
There is no denying that that the Jeep is a great looking car and if this can deliver the truly robust driving experience that the brand suggests, many UK lease customers will be more than happy. However, the suitability of the finance product (contract hire and leasing) and the asset (an all-electric vehicle) does require careful diligence. Is a usership fixed term contract really right for you? Are you or the fleet ready for the obligations an EV lifestyle brings? The e-car lease “living with your ...” tools will set out to you the good, and the bad, facets of each car. So, factors like range, charging speeds, full charge costs, charge point integrations, motor insurance and company car tax are all set out for review. Make sure you utilise this before committing to the deal.
