Xpeng car leasing
A contender for the best electric vehicle manufacturer has, until 2025, been the reserve of the Tesla brand. However, a new brand is emerging from China which is purporting to become the World’s number one EV producer – Xpeng Motors.
Based in Guangzhu, the brand is not a familiar one to UK customers but having been founded in 2014 this is a long-standing company. The brand is centred around the view that technology is the cornerstone of mobility and that future smart mobility will be defined by the internet and AI technology. Since its inception, the company became listed on the NYSE in 2020 and the HKEXC in 2021.
For us in Europe, the technology cooperation and joint development agreement between XPeng and Volkswagen was a clear indication that the brand would soon become more well-known. With both XPeng and VW now co-producing the CMP platform in conjunction with the Chinese electrical architecture, we will see new and exciting products launching - especially with the group’s presence in Amsterdam, Oslo, Zeebrugge and Munich.
We don’t need to convince UK leasing customers to consider new and alternative brands; the emergence of new products has been warmly welcomed by consumers and businesses alike. Pro-technology cutting-edge firms always get the approval of the leasing community. The team at XPeng follow 3 principles – 1) Intuitive 2) Courageous 3) Lively. This translates to robust LFP batteries (which do not need cobalt), quality products and efficient manufacturing, ESG underpinnings and full-stack engineering.
The class-leading lidar, radar and camera features are aiming to provide the driver with the most autonomous and secure method of transport. The Xpeng brand has already invested in super-fast charging stations in China, as per the Tesla model, so if this is adopted in the UK then customer loyalty can be more easily achieved.
At the time of writing (February 2025) there is only one product destined for the UK – the G6 ultra smart coupe SUV. While the group have previously trialled the G3 SUV in Norway around 2021, there were issues in production and take-up, which has led to the new direction and strategy. Having launched in 2023, the G6 SUV is not a new product by any stretch. With starting prices suggested at around £39,990 - £44,990, this will be a reasonably priced option too. Their X9 ultra smart 7-seater may soon follow.
Most customers will need to properly ascertain the finance product, contract hire and leasing, before they even decide on the XPeng itself. While our team can offer other purchase products like PCP, BCP and finance lease, our fundamental options are on a lease basis.
This means using a new or used EV for 2 - 4 years, on a predetermined mileage and based on an initial rental / deposit of your choosing. Available equally to an individual or fleet, this is a usership approach to electric cars, without the need to undertake the risk of deprecation or re-selling the car. Plus, this is tax efficient for anyone running a limited company. For many new electric cars, the flexibility of the lease route is well received.
However, the nuances of an electric car, like the new XPeng, do also have to feature within your decision-making process. Impressive technology and AI is clearly inherent within this Chinese motor manufacturer but there are facets which do need to be taken into account such as real range (cold v warmer weather), charging times, whole of life costs and motor insurance. Your driving lifestyle, and personal circumstances, do need to be considered and not just the style, looks or price of the new EV! Our amazing website “living with your …” analysis and EVC™ are on hand to answer all of this.
If you want to lease a new XPENG via our expert team, make sure you have researched the product via the XPENG manufacturer initially. Since many new brands will have a limited volume of showrooms and dealerships, the website is the primary source for understanding the specification, style, technology and beyond.
You can then use the e-car website to understand the EV lifestyle aspect to the product, using our unique tools to ascertain if this is right for you or the business. Our website does enable you to create an instant quote; input a term, annual mileage, initial rental (including no deposit options) and maintenance provision on e-car to understand your monthly expenditure. The electric journey to XPENG starts here!
